Welcome to the website of the Presidency Range of the West Bengal Police.

The Range, encircling the city of Calcutta, comprises of the districts of North 24-Parganas, South 24-Parganas and Howrah.

Apart from having a long international border with Bangladesh which includes the Sunderbans biosphere, the Range also has within its jurisdiction an international airport, a railway station of national importance, industrial and manufacturing areas on each side of the river Hooghly, burgeoning condominiums, an IT hub as well as large tracts of agricultural land and fisheries.

The population is large and diverse in terms of religious, ethnic and linguistic identity.

Policing this vast region and diverse population poses a number of challenges. The three Superintendents of Police along with the officers and men are committed to making their respective areas safe.
